Game Jimmy
Game Jimmy
Jimmy had gone off to the jail, Boggo Road…
His father not judged was set free…
Paddy had shot a man who had flogged …
a Jockey to death, probably?
Paddy he came to Bronco Don saying …
“hold onto this halter for me …
when Jimmy returns ,
I’ll be feeding the worms…
when they finally set him free.”
So the lad did for his dad, suffer the pain,
the fifteen years for a murder,
Older and wiser he came on the train,
The halter was waiting for him.
Don Johnson 18-aug-11
Paddy melon and his son,
who went to jail for murder in his father’s place….
Paddy left a rope halter with Dad
to give to Jimmy Melon when he came for it about 1960?….
