Notes About The Poem

Galactic By the Gallon

Galactic cowboys mount mysterious steeds and chase spacey cows at unfathomable speeds! Lactating in circles they moo as they spray an interstellar round-up, a real milky way. It sparkles and glimmers, that distant lactation as it drenches the galaxy and all of creation. At heaven we marvel, in some ungodly hour, at distant milk curdles, already gone sour.

Sorry- I forgot. If I may suggest a word change, last line: AS distant milk curdles... If this is inappropriate, my apologies.

It's not inappropriate, but the intent of the last two lines was that what we marvel upon, is soured milk curdles. If you remove the modifier, 'in some ungodly hour' the intent is more clear: At heaven we marvel at distant milk curdles, already gone sour. I appreciate the courage to make your recommendation, it's how we all learn from each other. -G =)

But they say it's expanding so... fences to mend? You might send this to the periodicals that publish that starry stuff. It's fun, thinking about cow-pie moons and Black-hole cheese.
