Fugitive Forrest

Fugitive Forrest

                               Running...Oh how he hates running...
He feels like Forrest Flippin Gump,
                               because he has ran non-stop...Since...
                                Since The Incident..."I'm Innocent"!!!

Already 2,426 miles away...But not far
                                     enough...never far enough...
Felling that they are always closing
                                in on him...His breathing quickens...

Screaming...Yelling at God for hating him...
He prayed though not everyday, but surely?
Surely God knew he's a Believer...
Was a Believer, past tense..."I'm Innocent"!!!

It was self defense...Against the police department?
It doesn't work that way...Life as a runaway...
They are going to kill him for this...No statement...
It was 3 unidentified men...His breathing quickens...

All over the news...On every front page...Just great!
Why didn't they say police? They could've been anybody...
                        Not today...Just 3 sheriff deputies...Gunned down to
                  get away...And hasn't stopped running since..."I'm Innocent"!!!

Excellently executed, Brian! A total match up for the theme, and I loved the way you wrote this ... with a million back-and-forth thoughts going through your head ... it's all what really would take place, in this situation. We're not sure exactly what happened ... all we know is ... "You're Innocent!!!" ... quality writing, my friend.

Agree with other feedback--the excitement rolls nicely. When's AMC going to air the pilot? ;-)

Was an incident not that long ago a sniper shot at two state two state troopers and hid in the woods. Of course that sniper wasn't innocent, but he was the highlight of the local news until they caught up with him. Thanks for the read!

In some sadistic way though that sniper of yours probably thought he was innocent of some shorts, at least justified. Thanks for reading
