From Me To You

Dear You It has been six months since we were together, However, it seems that this was not to be so. I felt we were meant to be forever, Therefore, I thought I would let you know; Since you left, the birds stopped their singing The wind ceases to blow I still feel numb yet tingling Even the white has vanished from the snow Do not let my smile fool you I put it on for others to show When the end suddenly came through My heart has seen nothing but sorrow I live on borrowed time, The world began and ended with you You away were someone else’s and not mine Life I will no longer pursue Withered roses shall lay on my bed And their roots shall consume me The thoughts of you have killed in my head And this life is where I do not want to be I miss you… My You

What a sad, but well written story of lost love. I thought the verses were a little crowded in places with words that could have been omitted to keep the meter in order, but that's okay. Again, it WAS sad and something we can all relate to at times in our lives. I think you did a great job on this one. Keep it up my fellow poet. Hope you didn't take offense to my observation.

Such a sad poem, Sidney. It's hard to find hope and inspiration when the one you love most leaves you. Hope this poem isn't based on something that happened to you, but if it is, writing about it may help soothe the pain. Best wishes, Carolyn
