From a Jack To a King - Hlm

Humble beginnings
Rising to top of the pops
Song heartbreak hotel

Dubbed as the King of Rock and Roll
Elvis the pelvis also sang soul
Of Hispanic origin
Blue eyes sent girls in a spin
The hearts of old and young he stole.

Memphis idol's funeral, adoring fans in thousands pass casket.

Enjoyed the write and the description. His stepbrother wrote a book called The Two Kings. He said a tree fell in front of the hearse.

And still it doesn't seem like he's gone...his presence will live a long long time I believe. He spanned generations so we will remember him. A nice tribute.

Elvis was a very special soul. He gave joy to so many. My mother met him when he was sixteen and she remembered him being very polite to everyone. I got to meet his wife on a flight. She was lovely. It must be a difficult life to be an entertainer with very little privacy. I admired Elvis the showman and the humble person he remained. A lovely tribute you have written about him Jennifer. Blessings xxoo

Thanks, Jennifer, he had a unique voice. I lived in Memphis the year he died and worked a few blocks from Graceland. The traffic after work was terrible. Good luck in the contest! Bill

Even my mom, God rest her soul, an elderly, proper woman would rock and roll with him...smiling at his performance. We kids would laugh. "Dubbed as the King of Rock and Roll Elvis the pelvis also sang soul" Love it! Joe.

Hello Jennifer ... a true icon of the entertainment industry. His songs will go on forever. In NSW, each year, an Elvis tribute weekend is held, and trainloads of Elvis impersonators attend - thank you Jennifer - Lindsay

Fantastic tribute. I may be wrong about this, but I was thinking it needed to be a tribute to someone who died just last year. Anyway. I'd have picked Elvis for sure. he was so awesome!!

Reads like a good contender to me. Way to go for the contest. I liked Elvis but was not as wild about him as some. His lifestyle was really hard on him. Sad that his life went like it did. I like what Gershon had to say about Elvis' work. I think that it definitely does match up with that opera. LOL.. Your visit to my page was supportive. Sara

Pretty good for a ignurnt hilbilee, that Elvis, lol... Actually, Jennifer, have you ever noticed that "Now or Never," (which may have been his best ever), is sung to the operatic melody of 'O Solo Mio?' Anyway...
