Friends
I have seen him many times before
A golden smile with porcelain teeth
A face that lit the room like a rock star on tour
Decisively striking in his stature so sleek
An athlete by his nature and physique
A guardian of life, he was so very unique
He was awarded for bravery for saving lives
His face recorded on local news shows
With a personality that beamed its way to mars
He gifted you with silent platitude like shooting stars
Everyone that knew him loved him
And those that did not, loved him on first sight
His expression pervaded like a beacon of light
"Make way for the Red Carpet!"
In the streets or into each home
So lovingly adorned in every heart kept
him from ever being alone
I'll never forget what his name was
He did not live very long
He will forever be my "Buddy"
From the tales we remember in our life song
I can still see him running as fast as he can
Tail wagging all the way home
