Friend

Be my friend
Walk with me when I am walking
Sit with me when I am sitting
Hug me when I need a hug
Talk with me when I need someone to talk with

Ignore me when I am angry
Hold me when I am crying
Be there through my sorrows
Help me carry the load when I am struggling

Be there when I need someone
Help me move on with my life
Be the one person who never judges me
Show me how to be a better person

Most of all love me for who I am
With all my faults
Also the good parts as well
Just be the person you are
My beloved
My friend

I am Richard's mother and I wrote this for two of my friends. Have never done this before except my annual Christmas letters to my children. Thanks for the complements from you and all the lovely people on the soup. Richard is a special son and I am so very proud of him. He has a remarkable wife and son and he does me proud. I am truly blessed. Edith/MamaBear

I thank you for all the kind words. You are nice to an amateur poet and I appreciate it. This is probably my only contribution to the soup. Richard has all the family talent and I am extreamly proud to call him my son.The poem was written for two wonderful friends for whom I could never express all my feelings for.I am truly blessed with great friends and a phenomenal family. Thanks to all of you, Mama Bear.

Hello and welcome to the site. There are many friendly and helpful people here, and I know you will enjoy your time. Just a couple of suggestions to improve this piece: In the last line of your first verse, try replacing "to talk to" with "for conversation". It is improper grammar to end any sentence with a preposition. Also, what is "yhth" in the last line of your second verse? Do you mean either "my" or "the"? Other than that, this is a pleasant read.
