Fresh Pickin's
Deliberately oblivious to the frenzied swarming insect greeting and
Picking the reddest and ripest of red raspberries then
Choosing the darkest of the gold to top the bowl
Later with the aftertaste of testing in the back of my palette and
The itching beginning in places unreachable as
I sit in the cool safety of porch while
Penning the joys of plunder in
Anticipation of fruited chocolate mousse
Comparing the experience to
Cleaning newly caught fish or
Filling a bowl of cool salted spring water with
Fresh killed heart and liver or
Hand churning ice cream
