Written: August 29, 2023 ________________________________________________________________ Cage, once a prison, Bird breaks free, spreads wings in glee~ Heart mourns, longing, wild Boundaries shattered, The cage transforms into flight~ My heart mourns freedom From cage to freedom Bird soars high, my heart in pain~ Longing for its flight

In a leafless tree it would rather be than a prisoner in a cage of gold, and you cannot follow, sadly. Beautiful set of Haikus that tell an age old story. Innuendoes of genius.

I felt this poem so deeply; the poignant manner you’ve woven these words, in syllables is just beyond impeccable.i love the flow and depth of your words and experience of life that you ink on paper, truly remarkable and exquisite. Haiku that can make one feel so much, is so rare and precious for me: but you’ve done that effortlessly. I especially love “ boundaries shattered” “ from cage to freedom”what a thoughtful write . Love this! You are truly a gifted poet

Whoa!! I don't think a hummingbird would last very long if it was caged and some people would not last very long if they were in a situation where they were feeling caged. Thanks for sharing this one and for stopping by my page. Sara

I refuse to be tied down by 17 sylables. especially when the subject is beauty in itself. The Hykiu was a cage and your the bird. With the same space you of all people could have flew free.

Quite meaningful my friend--words soaring like the freedom flight of the bird.
