Freedom's Fire - For Contest
Freedom’s Fire
Freedom finds its fire
in the hearts of those who know its price,
know that it isn’t free.
Freedom has been fought for, earned,
cherished and defended,
savored, as a connoisseur would sample
an aged wine, swayed by its
bouquet, held by its rich tone.
The fire of freedom must burn within
the hearts of those who seek it,
within the dreams of those
who aspire to it, within the determination
of those who wish to maintain it.
Freedom’s fire torches the horizon
with each sunrise,
gives thanks at each setting sun
for each task completed,
each milestone surpassed,
each day lived in freedom’s fire.
