Freedom Was Is Not Free For Everyone
Freedom,
Was / Is Not Free, For Everyone
By: Tom Wright
2/8/03
Upon awakening this morning,
I thanked God, for blessing my life.
For being born a sovereign man,
and for a loving, praying wife.
From within, I reasoned about freedom,
that appeared first, at Calvary.
Twas by the shed blood of Jesus,
that man, from sin, was set free.
As I prayed for our nation,
I pondered enduring freedom's cost.
Had I taken for granted, that freedom was free?
Had fact, in my reckoning, been lost?
In delving into history,
I found my chronicles were to be.
A visionary stride across any cemetery,
observing white crosses, as a sea.
