Freedom Lost

Here in the autumn of year 2012 I mourn freedoms lost as do many other of my countrymen I mourn the loss of these freedoms; blindly legislated away Freedoms that our fathers fought and died to win and knew so very well I weep for our children that know not what has been taken from them Freedoms taken from us or simply given away in the name of security Freedoms forsaken in the name of security is also a chain that tightly binds These many chains cast upon us will eventually lead us into bondage In bondage none will raise a voice for they want not for anything Wanting for nothing but for the freedom that was given away

Donald, i hear your mourn, loud and clear.. the emotions in your poem shall be directed to the full development of human freedom lost. Your poem shows strength and respect for human rights and lives that were taken away right under our very eyes and nose... good expression and verse..pd

Wow! Very powerful right! I see the depth of loss in the words...Well, sometimes we can only mourn because there is not much we can actively do to bring about change...except move people by the words we write! :)

Hi Donald, I mourn with you about all those lost freedoms, well said. Good use of repetition.
