Freedom Evermore

I heard the Star Spangled Banner tonight. It has the power to move and captivate me still. Images and emotions once again come to light. It effects me deeply, I believe it always will. Standing almost at attention, experiencing such pride. Thinking of what those stars and stripes represent. A tear falls, for all those who defended her and died. Our symbol of freedom her message heaven sent. I can almost see the raging battle, the night our anthem was born. As did an eye witness, a poet named Francis Scott Key. He was inspired seeing our flag still flying tattered and torn. Not knowing what his poem/lyrics would come to be. We owe it to this country, dearly loved despite its flaws. To honor, and not forget, what it still stands for. Not just its politics, its beliefs, or its laws. But those who gave their life, for freedom, evermore.

Right: For those who gave and gave their lives. (Certainly not for the politicians!!) Thanks, Sandra! Best always, Gershon

Absolutely Sandy! We must never forget, exactly as you put it. and so interesting...I was listening to a video of 22 Patriotic songs in concert recently and actually stood there still, mesmerized by it as you mentioned. I am keeping this as a FAV. Well done :)

Thank you Heidi. Your comment and making it's favorite means alot. I wasn't sure if I expressed my thoughts and emotions as well as I hoped.
