Free the Dandelions - For Flower Contest
Free the Dandelions
I free the dandelions
Big Bad Wolf style,
a huff and a puff and
fly sweet children
to a secret niche
within an unknown safety.
Cling to the stones
rest beneath the snows
awaken to your mother’s touch
rest easily among your native kin
unkempt, untamed, uncut,
alive in pure defiant dance.
Turn your sunbright face
to draw the dwindling bees
to sup “au natural”,
pollinations purity,
hive and flowers future,
served with honey’d sweetness.
The dandelions free me
to sit amidst the weeds
calm sense of coming home.
