Four years

I know you are sensitive, not sentimental, but it has been four years, that's one thousand four hundred and sixty one days, since enlightened tides kissed those island shores. My soul was wrapped in worn ribbons, mourning my misplaced muse and you were a whispering rose, wilting at the slightest touch. Bleeding 3am vents, with conflicting vowels and consonants, the sirens of your ink screamed for a silent troubadour to compose cathartic bloodstreams - but life is not as pretty as petals and poetry. A mistress to moonlight, I found you crying at an apathetic moon, so I cracked open your volcanic cocoon, to open your eyes to cinnamon and persimmon horizons - now you float like an empyrean butterfly. I hope you soar forever and know I could have written for you, as many verses as you have seen stars, but we cannot cultivate in fields of unfairness, where only dead blooms now decompose, as you keep ignoring Cupid's cries. Despite contradicting crossroads, my heart is deep rooted in wayfarer's wisdom, knowing when there are no more beats - you will honour me with a requiem for an artist. Simple Musings

"A mistress to moonlight, I found you crying at an apathetic moon, so I cracked open your volcanic cocoon" very mesmerising lines. " Life is not as pretty as petals and poetry." Oh! We wish it was. And most times we don't even want life to be like poetry because it reeks of pain, grief and hurts. This piece is raw and introspective. Feels like a lament and a stretch for healing. A plea not to regret. True beauty and truth in your metaphors. "a requiem for an artist," is hauntingly evocative.

Heart and soul in this one. It's strange how, 3am and 4am bring out the thoughts of the poet.

I read this Silent One and you really put your heart and soul into this one. The complexities of unique thoughts and metaphors to imagine, create and share in your messages here, shows a level of communication that all Poets desire. It is unique and rarely seen on a level that not many venture in. So much to read into, maze of thoughts and sensitive feelings to feel and experience by your crafted words. As always my friend you deliver so much and share in your Poetic world... Thank you for

She could have been so much more, but you found her .....crying at an apathetic moon.....and she keeps....ignoring Cupid's cries whereas if she had been your loving mistress, you could have written as many verses as she had seen stars. Great write SO. Hope you are keeping well my friend. Blessings, Jennifer.

Dear friend, SO, It would be easy to write a book on your four-year journey because of all the wonderful imagery and alliterations you used. Your lyrical descriptions are beautiful, and love may indeed bring joy, sorrow, and isolation. It breaks my heart to see how it ends! You are really talented.

"I hope you soar forever and know I could have written for you, as many verses as you have seen stars," -- Wow! Love that. Great poetry throughout. Love can bring beauty, pain and loneliness -- to its credit, love is always love unchangeable. Omnipotent for the poet.

Your trip over four years can be written in a book. You are a better storyteller than me.

Dear SO, Wow, your poetic words just blew me away! Your incredible journey over these four years had to be hard. From many tough nights to your ultimate transformation, raw and beautiful. By the way your words about the "empyrean butterfly" is so emotional. I'm in awe of how you've grown and how you see your relationship. A treasure to behold. Autumn Blessings, My Dear Friend, Daniel

"mourning my misplaced muse", "sirens of your ink screamed", "crying at an apathetic moon", - very unique, indeed!

As Valsa said below Dear SO, this is no simple musing. It is dripping with emotion and seemingly unapproachable splendour of the empyrean butterfly she would have read your unwritten verses. Hugs Maria

This is no simple musing ! This is written in blood oozing from your heart. However happy to see you break the silence to write for some one special... for you found her 'crying at an apathetic moon". So you cracked open her volcanic cocoon, to open her eyes to cinnamon and persimmon horizons - that now she floats like an empyrean butterfly". Amazing! The concluding part is heart wrenching ! You are beyond gifted, dear Silent One.

Beautiful and wistful poetry Silent One. Who could resist having as many poems written for them as the number of stars they have seen.… Beryl

This is a poem of two halves, very tender and beautifully written. The maths confuses me, unless perhaps linked to cycles of the moon... This speaks of deep love, likely shared but different perhaps on both sides. The line "I could have written for you" very touching.

Like a ship on the ocean that encounters fair weather and fowl, we all strive to reach calmer waters and a safe harbour. Life can be challenging and unfair at times but we never give up. Tom

Dear silent one, this is such a sincere and heartfelt poem woven from your soul i can see. Your last line made me think, we often forget to appreciate and acknowledge people while they are still breathing and live and we only remember everything when they are no longer with us or when they pass away, which i think is not fair but is human nature, only few are grateful for little things and help they receive so selflessly from others . I felt it deep when you wrote “ but we cannot cultivate in fields of unfairness when nothing seems fair and cupids cries are ignored and all that now remains is dead blooms! What a way to express! And i love also the flow of this poem and how youv expressed with metaphors and subtle alliterations that just comes so easy for you!

Interesting that line made you think about that... It is more about when one leaves this world, the person he would like to write his final verse to say goodbye, is this person... Thank you for your visit and comment
