Notes About The Poem
This was going to be my entry for the Limerick picture prompt contest (with the swimming pool and boy with his head submerged) but I've tried a few and decided on the last one. (Swim At Your Own Risk) However, I did like these as well, so thought I'd add it to my poems anyway. ;) If you're up for it, read the others too and let me know which is your favorite. Only if you want to, No pressure!! Perhaps I'll delete that entry and use this one instead of I get enough votes lol!! Thanks yall!

Four Limericks

#1 Topless Mermaid Big bully who teased younger Guy Said, "dude, go give it a try! A mermaid, No shells, at the bottom,!” he yells… … and boy, he ran head first to dive!
#2. Literal Lot
Literal Lot, temper so hot, Symbolic speech understands not. Then, when someone said, “Man, you have a hot head!” he dunked in the pool like a shot! #3. Swim At Your Own Risk Swimming in pool was Lou- Lou, In distress yelled, ”MA! Gotta poo !” Momma was too late. So the cowboy, Nate, stuck in head n'said, “Howdy-DOO!” #4.Boy Wizard Disappears! Boy wizard with magical wand, could open the doors to beyond! in the pool one day, dropped it with dismay, One second there, n'then he was gone!

Crystol. I am on my phone right now and don't know how to copy and paste things. Later I want to show you the limerick meter so you can apply it to these humorous limericks. I will get back with you tomorrow. I see many poets here who don't use limerick meter so it's a very common thing!

Right now limerick one is almost perfect meter. Also it's my favorite one I think!

1 and 2 are funniest for me. 3 pretty funny too.the one with best limerick meter of the three is probably 2. Very clever set.(3 is close to limerick meter as well. With a few adjustments would be perfect!)

So, just because the syllables are all the same(say:10,10,5,5,10) like#3, doesn't mean the meter is perfect? If you have a chance to answer that's great but if not that's OK! :)

Thank you for taking so much time to read and critique,I truly appreciate it! I tried to follow the syllable rules but guess I still need to learn and understand meter. Ty for giving me a place to focus! Xoxo
