Forgiveness -Revised
When bygones be bygones, hearts can mend
From deepest wounds, forgiveness starts to seep
The weight of grudges, bitterness to end
And let the healing balm of peace softly creep
To nurse the hurt would be to relive the pain
And judge once more, with anger's bitter stain
But to forgive is to release the heart's deep gain
And find the inner peace that love and kindness sustain
The injuries of past, though deep and real
As hatred's chains can bind and weigh us down
Must not define the present's healing feel
While forgiveness lifts us up, and makes us crown
With peace and love, the heart is set free
And in forgiveness, true healing begins and we see.
