Forgive Me

I have never loved you before, Never stared with longing, Never blushed in your presence, Never in love with you, You held out your hand, But I never took it, I built a wall between us, Unbreakable and unshakable, Now after so long, I’m starting to miss you, I broke down the wall, And reached out for your hand, It was gone, I saw you with your back turned, Not aware of my presence, Tears streamed down, As I begged you to turn, To take my hand, And never let go, Please forgive me, I didn’t know, That I loved you, Deep inside the dark corners, Of my heart, Please forgive me, And be mine forevermore.
