Forest Floor

When I am with you, I miss you more, Your arms around me on the forest floor, Heart empty yet content Time slows to a crawl… But even when you have left, The sway of the bus makes me recall How it felt when I was with you on that forest floor. Everything from your hazel brown eyes, To how short you are compared to my size, The way you dress and the way you talk, Your radiating energy when we walk, That smile that you pull on first glance, The way you hold my shoulders with your hands And press your little head to my chest… My heart gets faster, I feel at home. I like all from which your character was sown, The way your face is dressed, Your lips, eyes, brows, nose and the rest, Perfect image, down to every fibre and cell, Lost in thought, my heart yells How I miss the way you held me on that forest floor.
