For the Earth

Jayhook lived a simple life A bit carefree, he wandered Perhaps, somewhat detached, many folks might say He welcomed what was offered never thinking of the world And though the man was kind of heart he seldom thought of others Enlightenment does come for some and hence, he noticed his terrain With years of clutching bounty past repayment was at hand To squander gifts was not his end and so he made a pact And such was Jayhook’s bargain with the earth
