For I, I Was Born To Rise. . .
did you think you could pull me down?
was your intention to break my wings?
i cannot stay down in the dust,
for i, i was born to rise. . .
i am a precious, beautiful and black diamond,
all the scrubbing and processing did not phase me,
the acid you are pouring on me cannot kill me,
for i, i was born to rise. . .
does the confidence i have threaten your existance?
the curve balls you keep throwing at me won't hinder me,
as for the bullets in your eyes, i'm not afraid,
for i, i was born to rise. . .
like the sun rising after each night of darkness,
like the stars come out after the sun has gone,
my spirit will keep springing in high hopes,
for i, i was born to rise. . .
i am going to soar on the waves of the wind,
i am going to rise and not sink anymore,
i am going to walk tall even though i am short,
for i, i was born to rise. . .
