This morning when I woke up The rain tapped on my window I rose, took my hot coffee And woke up, drowsy, slow In your heart across the ocean My emerald eyes smile in you Like your mocha eyes can warm My heart and soul like they do Although I cannot see you My heart sees what's important Comes alive inside and opens My self that first was dormant Through the oceanic distance I feel you live within me And thus, my love, we will dance For all the world to see *** February 28, 2017

Thank you John, I love that paradox, painful as it can be.

Love <3 It doesn't diminish with the long distance. <3 I am so happy for you! And then there's good, hot coffee... so much to love about this poem!

Beautiful my friend. Long distance relationships are hard but it all depend on how you look at them.

They are very hard in one way: the longing for physical contact. What many people overlook though, is the incredibly deep relationship you can develop without the visual aspect. You get to know people on a level that most probably wouldn't have happened otherwise. And I am not only talking about love, but about friendship in general.. Through ages and disabilities. It's SO rewarding.
