Poetry form:  footle-haiku  -This is my debut of the footle-haiku poetry form.  It consists of a footle, followed by a haiku that has a correlation (direct or indirect) with the footle.

high coup - a brilliant, sudden, and usually highly successful stroke or act // They pulled off a mountaineering high coup when they scaled Mt. Everest in record time.

footle -  a poem that is actually very short.  It is a two-line poem that consists of two syllables in each line.  It is generally written to be light and witty.

haiku - a verse form of Japanese origin having three lines containing usually five, seven, and five syllables respectively

Mark, I like how you are not afraid to combine forms and create something interesting, I must try to do that !

Another witty merge - love it! (I have a Senryu called "High-ku" about Everest, and a Free Verse called "Last Sun, K2" you might enjoy ... when much younger I spent a lot of time on mountains, extreme skiing and Freestyle, some climbing as well). You are in firm touch with your imagination, Mark, and there are few things I respect more, especially where poetry is concerned - never lose that child's heart! :-) (Link to the latter: https://www.poetrysoup.com/poem/last_sun_k2_993650 )

Greg, I am so glad that you liked the merge. I didn't know how it would come across, but since you and Andrea like it I must be on the right track :) I read your "Last Sun, K2" and loved it because it captures the spirit of the true mountaineer, who climbs on his own terms and even meets death on his own terms, while still respecting the mountain. Thank you too for your gracious comments and for sharing your experience. The extent of my climbing has been high bluffs overlooking Lake Michigan in Wisconsin, and a mountain named the Brasstown Bald, which is the highest point in Georgia. Otherwise, I climb vicariously through books :) Thanks for stopping by. ~Mark

what cool forms to combine. I really liked this. I especially loved the clever word play of your footle.
