Foolish Heart?

So, it went on, we would break up-Sharyl would be gone from my life for weeks and months at a time-But seldom from my mind-And never from my foolish heart. For short periods I could force her from my conscious thoughts-But ridding her from my mind altogether-Was impossible. Like a ghost from the past or an addiction you could never overcome-There Sharyl was-And my foolish heart would fall for her all over again. All I had to do was hear her voice or see her face and the rush of emotions would strike me full force-I could sometimes even manage the words “I don’t love you anymore”-But no one believed them-Least of all me- Because my foolish heart-I knew I would love this woman forever! As I look back-I’m never quite sure if her love is a blessing or a curse- Or weather Sharyl would tell you, I’m a hopeless romantic-Or only a sentimental fool.
