Notes About The Poem

Flying Hearse

I sent my verse into a flying hearse,
waved goodbye, with scented roses; forgot
her entirely; there was no doc or nurse
that could resurrect; she died a mugshot.

She was vile, beyond approach, not worthy.
Her cruel nuances and fingernail drag
across chalkboard, appalling; her gurney
rolled into the dusk; wearing a toe tag.

Hearse accompanied by buzzards, fat ones.
Hissing-lightning tires screeched on bleakest clouds.
Procession of words, joyful sunshine shuns.
Shovelfuls of primordial ooze, shrouds.

I sent my verse into a flying hearse,
waved goodbye, with scented roses; forgot

Lol. Love the humour Kim.,I was in Venice once and was up one misty morning waiting for the water taxi then a black boat appeared with a coffin on it, looked really eerie. but that's what they use there,a floating hearse. Tom

Now that's poetry a vampire can sink his or her teeth into. One man's junk.... You have such a marvelous sense of humor. The outcome of all verse, a hearse. Poe, Dickinson, blah blah blah -- they will all tell you personally some day:))

Sounds like good riddance would have been mentioned in a Eulogy, if anyone bothered giving one. There's a couple of names I could write on that toe tag.
