Fly
UNSUPPORTED CODE *Fly to a place,* I was asked to go
*The Lord's House.* Where? I don't know
I used to think I was already there
To the thought, *I'm a Catholic* I settled
Without the conviction of true faith
I let my wings, by mere breezes, be swayed,
Brought about by whispers of taunting evils
I doubted, hated, sinned, disobeyed
Upon the road nobody dared tread
the will of your masterpiece stood blurry
unseen by the ignorant eyes I have
I let myself simply settle for less
Upon the road I thought was happiness
I flailed and felt the emptiness caress
with broken wings, felt the loneliness,
of independent wings ignorant of the wind
then, I realize, will bring me to nothing
Back I went, to start again
Down the road, near the bend
From where I started, I saw you seated,
Waiting patiently as the mist at my eyes faded.
With you, gone, now, is the temporary bliss,
Now, as I was told, I settle my wings upon your nest.
*Fly to a place,* I was asked to go,
*The Lord’s House.* Where? Now I know
