Fluttering Shadows

Like a fluttering shadow or a darting swallow, an undeserved curse does not come to rest – proverbs 26:2 "Like a fluttering sparrow or a darting swallow, An undeserved curse does not come to rest", Yet here lies a man, harsh and hollow, Whose deeds were dark, by sorrow dressed. The skies today bear silent witness, To a fall that echoes far and wide, For he who ruled with ruthless stiffness, Now finds no shelter, no place to hide. His hands stained with cries of thousands, pounded, A reign of terror, of iron and flame, In cold earth now, his power grounded, But memory lingers, attached to his name. Oh, fluttering sparrow, darting swallow, You carry a truth on fragile wings, That justice, though delayed, will follow, And peace can rise from bitter springs. The wind may whisper tales of woe, Yet the sun shall rise on a kinder dawn, Where shadows of the past will go, And a new world blooms where he is gone. For like a curse that finds no home, His legacy shall fade and rust, In whispered winds, through air alone, His name will scatter, lost in dust. 19.05.2024 Upon the helicopter crash that killed Iranian president Ebrahim Raisi
