Fleeting Moments

Life's fleeting moments drain like the sand
in the hourglass. You'll never know how fast
precious, irreplaceable moments fade.
They aren't white elephants...
so don't let them go to waste!
The birth and first walk of your child
Your wedding day, your first kiss,
yes, even that first heartbreak!
Watching the sunset by the edge of the sea
with the one you love. Foxtroting beneath
the quarter moon, walks through the meadow
Moments like these, no hand can ever hold
Unadulteratedly revel in them while they last;
make every second last and count
They can't be anchored still by time
They're lost to the wind like a feather
between the blink of an eye. So seize and bottle
each fleeting moment as they come and go,
for they'll soon be a memory...
and the mind can't contain them all!
