Fission

You were gone before we drift away Desire calls still strong Badgered you before the bleak of day You could'nt love me long O study the moorings in the bay A wind barely strong Inch by inch their tides ebbing away Small waves play a sad song Now the mighty tides with blasting spray 'Gainst the heart's rock breaks The true lover's bereft, far away, Only stands and shake I believed you more than Jacob's dreams Of ladders that throngs With angels merging in their bright streams Joy of all my songs You were gone before you slipped away Love with love alone can stay.
