It's fun reviewing all the winners. I think so far I have seen only yours , mine and maybe two others inspired by first love.

Congratulations on your win John. What a pity your song went unheard, who knows if her heart would have been stirred. Belle

Very plaintive, such wistful longing, we can all relate to 'the one that got away' ~

Indeed. I have no regrets with how my life and love turned out, but it's sure hard when you're going through a season of unrequited love. Thanks for the visits today.

hey you borrowed a title from Grass Roots?? (maybe I got the band wrong) LIke yours, my poem never was seen by its intended recipient either. I had done a few practice poems in school but I think the romantic one was first personal poem I wrote. I hope I can finish comments with lame left hand. Tutoring coming up very soon

I may have subliminally 'borrowed' that title. It wasn't until years later when I heard it on the radio that I realized the title was the same as theirs. At least the tune is different!
