First Snow

We drove to our house In a dusting of snow, Surprising us all With its sudden swift show. We got out the shovels And cranked up the heat, Then covered the deck chairs To make things complete. But meanwhile my sister, A Florida gal, Was about to go swim In her too-hot locale.

The weather seems to be on everyone's lips these days for good reason. I am like your sister here in Hawaii but then again we have our share of hurricanes. I enjoyed your poem Ilene. First snow is so beautiful to watch and feel softly floating down. : )

You gotta feel sorry for your sister, eh? Can't feel the wonder of snow... (Who am I kidding?) ~ Gershon

Well done, but your sister has the best plan - no winter heating bills! Aloha! Rico

Hello ilene, yes there are times when winter sneaks up on you with no warning. Have a nice evening my friend.
