First Day of Summer

It’s the first day of summer, But feeling like fall, The chilliest solstice That I can recall. Now, I’m not complaining; I like when it’s cool, But for June 21st It is not quite the rule. As I sit by the river, My sweatshirt is zipped. (I had looked at the weather And came well-equipped.) It’s an overcast day With a vigorous breeze. Mother Nature has no one She has to appease. I’m enjoying the chill For I know very soon That the weather will feel More like typical June.

Happy FDoS, Ilene. MN is a typical female, I suppose...you never know just what her mood swings will be. I rather like "chilliest solstice".

It feels like summer here in South Bend. No, its not like a dog day of summer hot, but I don't need my sweater outside either. I am sure 2 hours ago the pool would have felt amazing. Well, it still might. I liked that you made this cute poem a rhyme.

It's a pity that your summer is not yet ready to make its presence felt, Ilene! I am sure it's only a question of hesitation :) ~ Best regards // paul
