Such a delightful Pleiades, 'Ink.' You truly captured the essence of fireflies. I grew up calling them 'lightning bugs.' Then as now I'm fascinated with their iridescent, glow. I used to capture them in a Mason jar and put the filled Mason jar by my bedside at night...it was my very own nightlight. You stirred a memory, thank you....blessings, Sara

I am carried away by the beauty of this pleiades. Fireflies are such lovely and magical bugs !' Flickering green gold' is the apt description for the luminence emitted by the firefly. So very enchanting poem. All the Best in the contest dear Empress !

Yeah!! Aren't they interesting. Great work about them. Way to go. I don't go out at night much any moe, but I remember when as a child I have caught them and watch them in a jar, but we always released them. Thanks for sharing this one and for dropping by my page. Sara

Another firefly fan here! I haven’t seen one for decades, I grew up in firheaven.. Chicago. To a little girl, they were pieces oh heaven that blessed the earth. A very touching, Pleaides, perfect, Ink!

Awesome one. I too did fireflies. I bet this title will be the most popular choice. Haven't put mine up yet, but I bet all of us firefly lovers will have used the word fly, flash and/or flicker!!!

Empress this is enchanting ! Floating little light bulb Indeed! That's exactly what they look like. To importantly mention the flightless female, then to end with the wondrous mating dance they compose, creates pure magic in the reader's mind. Is firefly or fireflies a song? I kinda started singing and wondered if it was... this is an totally awesome arrangement of words and how you used the letter F is great.. can't be easy talking about a firefly and having to use the same letter, but you have described the mating process here... I don't know much about them, but males flash to attract females.. some females even kill them whilst mating and use their elements to protect newborn.. but im no expert... love a firefly though...
