Fire and Ice

Flames of Ice Fire and ice they had a feud As bitter as could be For fire proclaimed he was strongest, Ice then disagreed So fire climbed onto the back of ice And ice could only melt Then ice stepped onto fires flame, Doused it without a welt They battled like this night and day Each not wanting defeat Ice quenched flame, flame melted ice, Neither would retreat Eventually they called a truce And agreed it was a draw Neither would or could or should Be the victor of this war Jane Shields 11th August 2016
