Fire

i flicker when spoken of glow in the breath you shouldn’t have wasted on apologies ash settles like snow on the bones of yesterday still warm if you press hard enough to blister i eat whatever dares to name me-- anger love home god you told me i burned too easily but you lit the match and called me beautiful beneath my skin a cinder waits i have never ended i have only gone quiet for now

One spark’s enough, isn’t it? Thanks, Bias. Fireworks leave ashes, too.

A voice of amber heat ventures into the vows of Love's fanatical patience...Life will serve Love with every breath born of need, and with all the blood drops of purpose made pure by Love's nurture...This is a great poem Poetess! The structure instinctively supports the vibe and attitude. An Element ancient and indomitable. This poem is thrilling, and is unequivocally a FAV!...J.A.B.

Justin, your words feel like an invocation in themselves--amber heat indeed. Thank you for stepping into the flame and naming its pulse with such reverence. I’m honored by your favorite and deeply moved that the structure and spirit of this piece spoke to you. Fire recognizes fire.

Such potency- it's "Fire" - fire lays itself bare, no false moves, either

Yes--no false moves. That’s exactly it. Fire doesn’t ask permission, it just is. Thank you for feeling its bare-boned honesty and naming its truth. Your insight crackles like a spark catching dry kindling.
