Inspired by Evelyn Judy Buehler's haiku, 'Flames,' posted March 25, 2020 -- and highly recommended!  Thank you, Evelyn :)

Fire destroyed my home Flames engulfed my possessions Fire seared a hole in my heart Wildfires ravage a forest Trees, wildlife, vegetation Scorched earth's ruination... For thousands of years Fire's been a dear Friend, a welcome Companion She's warmed our homes Cooked our meals Lit our dwellings And the whole Commonweal's Fire can be such a positive force Pains taken to keep it on course Unleashed, nothing much is worse

Gershon, The fanned flames give and take in your poem, a true dichotomy in the trade-off values. Very well written. -Richard

So true my friend. Fire is a good friend that bears watching. Turn your back on it once too often and it will destroy you. Great job here. God Bless, JB

I love this terrific poem, Gershon! It illustrates so well that though fire is an old friend, it can also do harm, as with other forces of nature! You're welcome, and I am so happy for any influence I had in the creation of this gem. Thank you so much for mentioning me. Blessings. :)
