Finding My Way

I can’t although I try
to go it all alone
I wish to feel God’s pleasure
but my heart feels like a stone

Jesus patiently waits for me
He doesn’t beg me for my time
I misuse the days God gives me
 believing that they are mine

All my moments yes are numbered
one day I will come to my last
Everything I want so badly
will be left in the distant past!

When I stand then before You Father
at Your throne I will confess
“I Knew You offered me more
yet I chose a path with less.”

So before my breath is taken
I relinquish my free choice
My own way is self deception
Now I’ll listen to You’re Son’s voice

For my path You have chosen
narrow and traveled by to few
It leads me to You Father
Your Bible verses they are true

Wisdom will be my chariot
lovely Hope will be my guide
Faith and Love true companions
but left behind will be my Pride!

Hi Richard, it is a wonderful writing from your pen as usual. You expressed your apology to God very well. We just need the favors of God because if he started investigating us we will fail. Thanks again for writing this beautiful piece

OH my God Richard it's an honor for me to read one of your amazing sad heartfelt poem. You’re rhyming made me cry your sentences from your beautiful heart made me realize what an amazing poet writer you are. Its unbelievable your spirit is so pure, your words took my breath away. You are a wonderful writer, I know nothing about you, i hope you realize who you are, and i pray you already have written a book to be available for everyone to read through you and take comfort from your poems.

As Lawrence Welk might say "Wunnerful, wunnerful, wunnerful. I need truly to get "self" out of the way.

:) what a wonderful poem, Richard. We often lose our focus in this life. The things that matter are spiritual in nature. That's one of the reasons I love Colossians 3: 1 - 4. Give it a read when you get the chance. Hugs...thanks for your visit to my blog.

A path I would like to follow, the path to life. You have lost none of your craft Richard, your work ever sings in its creativity. Has to be a fave richard. Have a wonderful Sunday. Amen! I know the bible is the only book where every prophecy has come into fruition... besides the one's to come. The odds of that is impossible, unless there is a God. And it is. Keep witnessing. Remain in truth; the bible!

"I knew you offered me more, yet I chose a path with less..." We need to come to that state of realization, before time runs out to make worthwhile decisions. A good introspective analysis. Enjoyed.
