Finally a Rainy Day
I woke up stretching
To the sounds of rainfall
After weeks of summertime fun
I couldn’t be sad for my friend Sol
Knowing he’d be back soon enough
Tons of good books set aside
Begging for my attention
Later this afternoon
I’ll make popcorn
Cuddle up
Watch a movie
Things I haven’t done
In so many weeks
But first things first
I will find my galoshes
Dress up in my bright yellow raingear
Embrace this rainfall too delightful
And jump in every puddle I can!
