Final Touch

I’m bored with sifting through the trite to find a poet who can write with passion that can stimulate the mind’s of those who take his bait. I’m bored with titles that don’t tell of magic written down so well that had the invite shown appeal we’d all be hooked on poet’s reel. So poets when with skill you write let titles shine out through the trite and let your label show with pride the passions that poor titles hide. The poetry is never done however skillful you become for you will never strike a chord if your intro’ leaves us bored! Ivor G Davies

You are so right, Ivor! If the title of a book or poem doesn't peak my interest, I won't read it. Very good! Love, Kim

I think the title is the hardest part of writing poetry....

Yes, as you say titles can be used for many purposes. To attract people to subjects they like, to warn people of contentious subjects, to lead people into a poem with a twist or different meaning or simply to sum up the entire theme of the poetry in one line. But titles must have a purpose and not just be a throw away sentence that hardly relates to the work. The title can completely alter the meaning of a piece of poetry also!
