Fighting in The Firmament

In the dismal and dreary dusk, I experience horrific hallucinations, Of cracks in the sublime skies. Celestial conflicts commence Without a hint or reason. Comets collide, stars flare In nasty noxious Novas. Quakes seem to shatter the peace Of the vast stretch of space. Whilst we on Earth envision The fall of a multitude of meteors. Catastrophic clouds form overhead, Effectively hiding the brutal battles galore. Then the rain begins to fall and I awake. Soon the cumulonimbus clouds disperse And the silvery stars appear in full formation. Thank God, ‘tis only a nasty nightmare.

But someday, so much of things like that will be real and people will cry for the rocks and mountains to fall on them to end their lives because of what is happening. Thank you for sharing your talent with us. Sara K

Had a few nasty nightmares too Victor, funny how they stay in mind, yet one forgets dreams of the beautiful kind. Enjoyed the read… Beryl

Oh, how you whelm me, over, and again as time flits in anticipation of the impending doom, a gathering of oneness is led to the recital of the Lord's Prayer, with eyes shut ... one single voice is heard as dawn is gift a smile. My family will read your edge-of-a-seat, Vers Libre, knowing they've grown--but how much so. Marvelous, Victor.

What a wonderfully engrossing poem, beginning with nightmare scenario, and ending in calm, cosmic beauty. It reminds me of how nice it feels to find that a nightmare was only a dream. :)

How descriptive is this! And so well woven with excellent diction and alliterations! Made me also think of some nightmares iv had, and how waking up from them, realizing they were just nightmares can be such a relief! Very well crafted. And delivered dear victor. Pleasure reading your work always. Sending you light

Sometimes we get horrific and nerve wracking nightmares. At a critical point when we wake up, how relieved we are to understand that after all it has been a scary dream. You must be concerned about the abrupt and erratic changes in the climate and weather these days. With such thoughts when we go to sleep, we get such dreams.
