Fight For Freedom-Eleftheria
We stood on a snowy mountain and together we feared fear,
all our bravado now just words- but we cannot steal them back.
Our whitewashed homes sit empty and idle awaiting our return,
yet, we know many of us will not and they will crumble like dust.
We march on empty stomachs, yet our spirits like our hearts are full,
and the sudden sound of gunfire loosens the bowels of even the bravest.
Our resolve strong and together we press on, fight for liberation,
though our bodies shake, weakness may yet break the most upright.
Shall we ever see each others faces when we return glorified?
as shoulder to shoulder as comrades we fight as one, I fear not.
So, I shall offer a prayer to the Holy Mother for our protection,
Let there be justice and freedom for our people.
