My father's from Iowa, makes me think of visiting my granddad's little farm as a girl! Perfectly written!

Beautifully painted; I can see that field of corn right now...the tips of the leaves turning brown from lack of hydration...makes me recall when I took care of Dad's garden one year while he was on vacation; there was water rationing and the corn began to turn brown; by the time he got back; the whole garden had brown dotting every plant's leaves and the tomato's and peppers were so small that they were pathetic...His first question: "I thought you were taking care of this; everything's burned to a crisp!" He had no idea that the rationed the water the day after they left for 2 weeks. A well done piece of poetry.

I think it is fabulous when a reader gets so much out of a tiny 3-line poem. Thank you so much for your wonderful visit and comment, ML. Most appreciated.

I am from Iowa, the corn state, so this haiku is singing my song.
