Anacreontic verse

When you feel too much – Words won’t come, Even poetry Feels like it bleeds, Opening old wounds, Betraying the light, Showing only pain, Darkness bleeding – Aching like the grief Who hides beneath Layers of doubt, Feeding from silence, Believing dying Would be better Than this shelter Of sorrow, Erasing hearts Who believe, Sighing threats Toward the light, Who yearns to see – Those feelings who stay Despite the way You’ve tried to say They’ve gone. They’re pieces of you Who say Even when you pray They’ll not betray Your heart!

wow, I felt your words, almost desperate words at the beginning. I agree, there's an upside and downside to feeling 'too much." Some days I struggle with that in a world that is sometimes harsh.
