Feeding your spirit learning to fly

The cage is open but you can’t fly
“WHO BROKE YOUR WINGS LITTLE BIRD???

The sky has waited all this time
For your return to flight.

The day will ask for pieces of me,
my attention, time, and care.
But first I must remember
the sacred self that's always there.

Only when my cup runs over do I unlock the door

I feed my spirit slowly with art,
music, poetry the seeds of creative wisdom
Help my spirit grow.

I water my roots with stillness,
let peace seep through my skin,
For feeding my spirit is essential
before the day begins

The cage is open, yes, it's true,
Stretch those wings you thought were lost—
Let your healing begin.

Feed you spirit whatever makes you laugh,
whatever lifts you up, whatever brings you joy,
whatever brings you fulfillment,
Feed your spirit whatever
helps you get through days long
draining barely maintaining,
just scraping by surviving surface level energy.

Who convinced you flight meant fall?
The world beyond your prison calls,

I feed my spirit first with wonder,
So when the day's demands thunder,
 I'm nourished, not easily bled.

What we pour we first must fill,
we give we first must gather,

kindle fires of intention,
Stoke the flames of my attention.
Feeding my spirit until that caged bird achieves
Ascension.
