Fear and Wonder
A coastal storm has found its way,
to this little island tonight.
The wind is blowing from ocean to bay,
white capped waves, gaining height.
Lightening bolts, rolling thunder,
nature's effect from sky to the sea.
I watch, with fear and wonder,
the power right in front of me.
When nature comes to call,
we stand with no defense.
In moments, it can devastate all,
with a fury so intense.
The rain and wind knock on my door,
seeking what is inside.
For now all is safe and secure,
within this place I hide.
Candles burn, to add some light.
In the darkness, they cast a soft glow.
Whatever it brings, I face the night,
Hoping for a morning rainbow.
