Favorite Memories
I relish every memory
of childhood friends and secrets shared
while sitting in our special tree
or taking risks when others dared.
You blink your eyes,
and childhood flies!
My mind’s eye still can clearly see
the classroom where I long declared
that writing skills would always be
essential. For each child, I cared.
Some yawned; some heard
each sincere word.
