I held my heart, just so far apart;
I have begun so that I could just start;
What's the matter with me you say;
In each and every other sentence, I pray;
Oh, Father help me;
And Father keep me;
O' and when my days are done;
On this ole earth come;
Come on down Jesus
Jesus come on down here
Come on down Jesus come down
I'll be waiting here on the ground for you
I've been a sinner for so long;
I have repented, rebuked my wrongs;
What's the matter with me the people say;
It's just you my Lord who has paved the way;
Oh, Father help me;
And Father keep me;
O' and when my days are done;
On this ole earth come;
Come on down Jesus
Jesus come on down here
Come on down Jesus come down
I'll be waiting here on the ground for you
