Release me from the past, Where my heart was overcast By silent woes and worlds of doubt Will I never find my way out? Dissolve those sins that cling to me, Taunting my mind with dirty debris Filthy sins and wickedness, so wrong When will I be back to where I belong? Free the bonds of sin and sorrow, Clouding my every hope of tomorrow Haunting me with sin’s tempting pull, Will satan’s appetite never get full? Leave me alone, darkness and doom All the worries that try to consume, Destroy the fears and wipe away the tears, Forever is much longer than the wasted years… I gave my heart to Jesus, so I will rest in peace So that He will increase, I must decrease, Give up the past with all its bitterness and hate, So that I can know the joy of heaven as my fate!
