The Gilded Age by Mark Twain in his 1873 novel /The Gilded Age: A Tale of Today, which satirized the era's materialism and political corruption is just what this King has ordered in his Megabill —Poetess There was economic prosperity, tho unconscionable social inequality as a few “robber barons” tycoons amassed great fortunes, whereas degradation inflicted dire poverty, mass starvation from petty wages and long suffered humiliation spawned a widened path and following stages Arising of labor movements, for better rights and conditions narrowing the gap ‘tween the CEO and the working Joe killed for organizing strikes The Gilded Age was notorious political corruption made glorious influencing many politicians dominating were the captains of industry An era of the rise of patronage systems and widespread bribery and kickbacks eroding trust in the government Lack of effective regulation contributed monopolist’s chasm reign solidifying rich/poor disparity We’ve forgotten that era and are in the midst of repeating the plunder A royal signature enshrines greed now just as then, making America for the privileged gilded again His majesty has his victory lap and with no room for a generation gap he’ll sign the Big Beautiful Bill On this Independence Day A gilded new age awaits his will

'Farewell to fairplay' is a situation prevailing not in US alone, but in most of the countries of the world.... a trademark of the present generation. The gap between the rich and the poor is widening with money accumulating in the hands of a few. When a business man becomes the 'monarch' , he can think only in terms of profit, where humanitarian concerns are naturally ignored. Dear Anaya, congratulations on speaking out the truth.

Anaya, you're right on target. Here's a brief synopsis...The top 1% of U.S. households own approximately 30% of the nation's wealth. This concentration of wealth has increased over the past few decades, with the top 1%'s share rising from around 23% in 1989 to roughly 30% more recently. This trend is not good for the health of our society unless you are a king or a royal inside the castle. We don't mind people making money, but how much do the very richest people really need? At least in the Middle Ages the throne room was limited by its size. No limits today. Moderation is a good thing!! Smiles!!

We didn't celebrate 4th of July this year, and we'll keep on fighting the good fight ! It just doesn't feel like "Independence" Ty sweet Anne, it's just one of my History lessons rhymed. ;D

The poet KT is from Trinidad and Tobago and sometimes Australia, yet his dedication to DT is unfathomable! He really doesn't get how people will suffer We were getting it just right with the former administration, people were making ends meet finally ~

Relax, your country has been saved from the radical loons. Trump is putting America first, not illegals and criminals and socialists first. Already wages of the lowest paid are rising as a result of deportations, not to mention making America safer. Huge tax cuts will put more money in their pockets. Medicaid dollars will be spent on US citizens, not illegal foreigners. It’s a beautiful day for America!

The deficit is a concern I agree but the jury is still out on how large it will be. Tariffs will be used to pay down debt. Tax cuts to billionaires, as you call it, is what creates wealth and investment and opportunities for Americans in all income brackets. Marxists don’t understand how a capitalist economy works. Democrats don’t want to create wealth, they want to redistribute it. The days of spending hundreds of billions of dollars on illegals every year are over. That money is better spent on hardworking Americans.

It's the radical loons who have saved themselves as they fall in line to pass the Ugly Bill all that's needed is to dangle bling Mega hats in front of them He puts himself first Huge Tax cuts for Billionaires and raised taxes for the rest His followers are evangelists who use the Old Testament to control their wives & sons His goal of 3000 immigrants a day consists of innocent father's whose only crime is coming to America! No Medicaid then Social Security gone Each and everyone of us have earned, allocated from paychecks, hey he's causing more of a deficit spending billions on these Gilded Age policies; Alligator Alcatraz, all agencies as Ice recruits Now you may have your opinion and I have mine, we'll share and compare and that's alright~
