Amid the magic vale stood the spring goddess Carrying an infant in her arms Around her bloomed flowers pure and ageless Bowing to the infant’s wondrous charms Not knowing the baby was from famine’s farms For Francine’s ‘Wow Me in 5 lines’ contest
